1,984 bottles will be released, taking us back to the first vintage ever marketed, from design to tasting.
In 1984, following a harvest particularly suited to producing sparkling wines, we tasted the macabeo wines and could think of no better word to describe them than wild (salvatge). Wines with great structure and character, incredibly fresh and aromatic, resulting in a unique and surprising sparkling wine. Forty years later, Salvatge has become an emblematic corpinnat from Nadal.
To celebrate this milestone (1984–2024), we have created a limited edition: the Salvatge Brut 40th Anniversary Edition. A very special Corpinnat of which only 1,984 bottles have been crafted, paying homage to the first vintage. In fact, this corpinnat recalls the style of that first Salvatge, thanks to the characteristics of the wines used to produce it, the dosage and expedition liqueur, the 36 months of ageing in underground cellars, and the design inspired by the first marketed vintage.
With this new Brut corpinnat from the 2021 harvest, we aim to recall the origins of Salvatge — a bold, pure, and magnificent sparkling wine, breaking away from the traditional style of the great Penedès sparkling wines of that time.
