Salvatge Brut reinforces its original style with the 2021 vintage

After 40 years, the provocative sparkling wine that broke the mold in the 1980s returns

Salvatge Brut 2021 is one of those sparkling wines that leaves a lasting impression. Provocative, pure, and superb, the new vintage of this Corpinnat once again highlights the style that made it a groundbreaking wine in the 1980s, but it does so with the calm confidence gained from four decades of experience.

For this new vintage, we’ve used a special dosage liqueur to enhance the wine’s mouthfeel, adding persistence without losing the freshness that defines this sparkling wine. A bottle aging of over thirty-six months has resulted in a Salvatge Brut meant to be discovered slowly and without embellishment, maintaining the unmistakable style of the Salvatge range with a more refined nuance.

The 2021 harvest was marked by a cool spring and a summer that allowed for full grape ripening. The Macabeu (57%) from the Anterina, Trasses, and Segarra estates — with old vines and deep soils — was harvested in late August, providing the structure and character that define this Corpinnat. The Parellada (24%) and Xarel·lo (19%) varieties contributed to its harmony and complexity.

At Finca Nadal, these forty years have allowed us not only to recover and perfect the character of Salvatge Brut but also to complete a unique collection: in 2008 with the creation of Salvatge Brut Rosé, and in 2013, Salvatge Brut Nature — the longest-aged of them all — with maturations that can exceed ten years. A collection that expresses the passage of time, the character of the estate, and the desire to show, without filters, the essence of a great Corpinnat.
