{"id":21416,"date":"2021-10-01T11:57:51","date_gmt":"2021-10-01T09:57:51","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/nadal.com\/?p=21416"},"modified":"2024-06-17T18:12:28","modified_gmt":"2024-06-17T16:12:28","slug":"nadal-closes-an-extraordinary-harvest","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/nadal.com\/en\/nadal-closes-an-extraordinary-harvest\/","title":{"rendered":"Nadal closes an extraordinary harvest"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>The rain at the end of July reversed the drought that was driving the vineyard to produce one of the smallest harvests in the last twenty years<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Torrelavit, September 30th, 2021 <\/strong>&#8211; After an autumn without much rain -90 litres-, an even drier winter -56 litres- and a dry and cool spring -except for a small episode from June 12th to 16th with maximum temperatures between 32\u00b0 and 34\u00b0- the forecast was a scarce harvest. &#8220;Perhaps one of the scarcest in the last twenty years,&#8221; according to Nadal&#8217;s owner and winemaker, Xavier Nadal. But the rain at the end of July -about 40 litres\/m2- allowed the grapes to ripen impeccably, acquiring a normal weight and all the characteristics of a great harvest.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The good condition of the berries allowed us to schedule a staggered, unhurried harvest this year. The early varieties of Finca Nadal began to be harvested on August 23rd and the harvest ended on September 23rd with the Parellada variety, which will be used to make Corpinnat sparkling wines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Xavier Nadal, &#8220;against all odds, this will be a vintage to remember for the extraordinary quality of all the varieties. The white xarel-lo and red xarel-lo wines that will be marketed in a year&#8217;s time and the corpinnats that will be released from 2024 onwards will confirm this&#8221;.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-embed is-type-video is-provider-youtube wp-block-embed-youtube wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"><div class=\"wp-block-embed__wrapper\">\n<iframe title=\"Nadal -
